The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to face off against the Detroit Lions in what could be an NFC Championship preview. The issue is the Buccaneers have dealt with multiple injuries to thier playmakers, including Mike Evans. However, it appears the final decision has been made on the veteran playing on Monday. The Buccaneers could use a boost of having him available considering the team will be without Chris Godwin and star rookie Emeka Egbuka is still a game-time decision. Now, reports have indicated that Evans is set to return to action against the Lions. According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Evans will be good to go. "#Buccaneers star wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) is good to go and will play tonight vs. the Lions after missing the last three games, sources tell," Zenitz wrote on X. In his absence, Egbuka stepped up in a big way, bringing in 469 yards and five touchdowns of his own. The issue is Egbuka also suffered a hamstring injury of his own, which knocked him out for two games. Even with the injuries, the Buccaneers remain at the top of the NFC South with a 5-1 record. They have a huge test on Monday night against the Lions, and they will need every playmaker they can get. With Evans finally returning, Baker Mayfield can finally continue his electric MVP-caliber season. The Buccaneers quarterback has been showcasing some toughness and grit through his own injury scares, and also leading the team to gutsy fourth-quarter comebacks. Tampa Bay is looking every bit a contender for the NFC, and they will need their biggest stars back to ensure they can continue winning. Even if Egbuka is ruled out, the team will get a major boost with Evans back in the lineup.
