BTS leader Kim Namjoon, AKA RM, is gearing up to deliver a keynote speech at the APEC CEO Summit on Wednesday, October 29. RM’s address will mark the first-ever speech by a Korean artist at the prestigious global business forum. Known for his thought-provoking and fluent speeches, RM’s address will be part of a special cultural session during the second day of the summit. BTS’ RM Set To Become First Korean Artist To Deliver Speech At APEC CEO Summit According to the APEC programme, RM will take the stage on October 29 from 3:05 PM to 3:15 PM and deliver a speech on the theme “Cultural and Creative Industries in the APEC Region and the Soft Power of K-Culture.” APEC introduced RM by saying, “As a creative powerhouse and avid art enthusiast, RM is renowned for crafting profound lyrics often inspired by various art forms. His flexible and philosophical approach to music and ability to push creative boundaries with cutting-edge collaborations have led him to work with a diverse range of artists.” RM’s speech at the summit will make him the first K-pop artist to appear as a speaker at this event. What Do We Know About The APEC CEO Summit? The APEC CEO Summit will be bringing together heads of state and corporate leaders from 21 member economies with the aim of discussing transformative industries and emerging trends reshaping the global economy. This year the theme of the summit is “Beyond Business, Bridge”. HYBE, the parent company of BTS’s label BigHit Music, is participating at the event as a Diamond Sponsor, making them the only entertainment company to do so. As per The Korea Post, HYBE will operate a promotional booth at the Gyeongju Arts Center, introducing its global business network spanning countries like the U.S., Japan, China, Latin America, and India. The company will also likely showcase achievements from its multi-label artists and display K-pop’s signature fan culture items. RM on the Work Front RM is currently gearing up for his comeback album along with BTS members V, Jungkook, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, and Suga. The OT7 started working on the album in July this year in the US, which will mark their first album in four years. The new record is scheduled to be released in spring next year.
