K-pop is a community. A community that lives in a corporate bubble that controls every aspect of the bubble, because it’s entertainment. As long as the fans are satisfied it’s fine. A corporate ambassador for the arts is still an ambassador for the arts and brings in money for things like public school music education. Music can be used for rebellion or protest or it can sell products, be used toillicit feelings in media like tv/film/games or just have people dance and have a good time. People have always paid to watch other people sing and dance, it’s a story as old as time.
