Bryan Mbeumo reportedly rejected offers from four clubs to join Manchester United in the summer. The Red Devils might have acquired Mbeumo’s services after a dramatic saga, but the Cameroonian reportedly also played a role in making sure that his move to Old Trafford was successful. After a brilliant 2024-25 season where he recorded 20 goals and seven assists to help Brentford finish in the first half of the table under Thomas Frank, several clubs came calling for Mbeumo, including Manchester United.According to CentreDevils, Mbeumo drew the interest of four Premier League clubs—Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle United. The Red Devils reportedly endured bid rejections from Brentford for the 26-year-old. Reports first emerged in June that the Manchester outfit saw an opening offer worth £45 million and £10 million in add-ons rebuffed by Brentford, followed by an improved bid of £55 million with £7.5 million of bonuses. It was said that Tottenham were willing to offer more money for Mbeumo during that period, with Brentford convincing the player to choose Spurs due to the increased financial package. However, Mbeumo repeatedly declined the offers, insisting that he had given his word to United. The back-and-forth finally came to a halt on July 21, when Mbeumo signed a five-year deal with the Red Devils, with the option to extend for a further year.In addition to the four English clubs, the abovementioned source also claimed clubs from Saudi Arabia also showed interest in the forward. What Bryan Mbeumo said after joining Manchester UnitedUpon joining Manchester United, Bryan Mbeumo said completing his move to Manchester United was a dream.
