Bryan Acheampong embodies discipline missing in NPP governance, says Appiah Kubi

Andy Appiah Kubi, special adviser to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Bryan Acheampong, on Tuesday criticised the previous NPP administration for what he called a lack of discipline in public office, saying Acheampong is best positioned to restore accountability.

“My personal singular disappointment in the previous government has been the absence of discipline in office,” Appiah Kubi told reporters after Acheampong’s vetting.

He argued that the Abetifi MP’s leadership style would instil discipline and higher standards among appointees.

“He [Bryan Acheampong] represents the disciplined one who will expect every appointee to exalt his virtue as a disciplinarian, and for that matter deliver as a public officer with all the levels of discipline expected in administration,” he said.

Appiah Kubi also pointed to Acheampong’s record in philanthropy, particularly in education and healthcare, describing him as a candidate who combines discipline with vision and social impact.

“Dr. Acheampong’s position is that we should bring everybody on board. If we want to win power, no single campaign can do it alone,” he said, calling unity essential for the NPP to return to power in 2028.

“The best position of all the candidates we see is Dr. Bryan Acheampong. He is the one who can bring the left and the right together in a team to prosecute this collective agenda,” he added.

Acheampong is among five contenders vying to lead the NPP into Ghana’s 2028 general elections, a race expected to test the party’s ability to remain united and win back voter confidence.
