Broomfield agencies are among the groups participating in a regional exercise organized by Colorado’s North Central All-Hazards Region, according to a release from the North Metro Fire Rescue District.
Much of the training will take place at the city’s emergency operations center, but the hazmat authority from Adams and Broomfield counties are planning to test field response capabilities at The Broomfield Bay Aquatic Park beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, the release stated. The other local agencies involved in the training include the North Metro Fire Rescue District, Broomfield Police Department, The City and County of Broomfield, Broomfield’s Office of Emergency Management and Broomfield’s Public Health and Environment department.
The training will test Broomfield’s cross-jurisdictional response to a simulated bioterrorism attack, including surveillance and detection abilities and system-wide coordination, according to the release.
