Brooks Koepka's Wife Jena Sims Details Pregnancy Loss at 16 Weeks

Golfer Brooks Koepka’s wife, Jena Sims, has shared the heartbreaking news of their pregnancy loss.
“At 16 weeks, we learned that our baby’s heart had stopped beating,” Sims, 36, wrote alongside a carousel of photos and videos from throughout her pregnancy with baby No. 2 on Instagram on Monday, October 6. “This is a grief no parent is ever prepared for. We are devastated, but remain hopeful to give Crew a sibling one day.”
Sims continued, “Too often, these struggles happen in silence. There is still so much work and research needed to better understand and support women’s reproductive health. If you’re experiencing or have experienced pregnancy loss or infertility, please know you are not alone. 💔.”
Sims ended her post by “[recognizing] the doctors and nurses who must deliver this kind of heartbreaking news every day.”
“It has to be the hardest part of their job, and I’m holding space in my heart for you too,” she added.
One of the photos in the post showed Sims’ ultrasound scan surrounded by bouquets of flowers, while another selfie showcased her growing belly. Sims also included a snap of a cake with blue and pink ribbons on it and a playful video with her and Koepka’s son, Crew, 2.
Fans and friends sent their condolences to Sims in the comments.
“Love you Jena ❤️,” one user wrote, while another person added, “Heartbreaking 💔 sending you so much love.”
A third friend commented, “My heart hurts for you babe. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Wrapping you in love and prayers and thinking of your sweet baby ♥️.”
Sims and Koepka, 35, met at the 2015 Masters and confirmed their romance at the 2017 U.S. Open. The couple tied the knot in June 2022.
In August 2023, Sims revealed that she and Koepka had welcomed their first child together.
“Crew Sims Koepka was ready for the world because he decided to break my water just 2 minutes after Brooks walked inside the house from the gym on Thursday, July 27th at 5:50 pm. 6 weeks ahead of my due date,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Already showing who’s boss.”
Sims later shared in an update that Crew was going into the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
“Leaving the hospital without your baby is something I wish on no one,” the Sports Illustrated model said. “’It’s the hardest thing we’ve ever done. There’s so much space in my heart for NICU parents, and those who don’t get to bring their babies home. We have been visiting him as much as possible, and we know he’s in the absolute best care.”
Sims added, “He’s off oxygen, breathing on his own. He is starting to take a bottle (in very small amounts) otherwise feeding through his nose. He is meeting tiny milestones every day!”
Crew came home from the NICU after 20 days.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in July, Sims opened up about motherhood and expanding her family with Koepka.
“For so many women, motherhood is their calling and their ultimate goal. I totally respect that. But that is one of my goals,” she said. “When Brooks and I were discussing having children, I was always like, ‘I’m still going to be working. I’m still gonna have a life.’ I think it’s intimidating to a lot of women who can’t imagine it.”
She continued, “I just couldn’t live my life any other way. I’m thankful I found a partner who is very appreciative of that. If anything, I think it’s one of the things he finds most attractive about me.”
