Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE at SummerSlam and took down John Cena. He did the same at Wrestlepalooza earlier this month, systematically taking down the ‘Greatest of all Time.’
And now, with ‘The Oracle’ Paul Heyman potentially reuniting with The Beast Incarnate, many are speculating as to what lies ahead for the 48-year-old. And talks will naturally head towards WrestleMania 42 next year, which is being held in Las Vegas, just like this year. WWE unveiled the first official advertisement for the show next April on Tuesday, with two-day combo tickets going on sale yesterday, Wednesday, the 24th of September.
The poster featured eight Superstars, including WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jade Cargill, Rhea Ripley, along with Lesnar.
Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 42 Plans
Brock’s victory over Cena in Indianapolis, especially the manner in which he won, left many confused, but it certainly established him as a major threat moving forward. It could be just one of multiple dominant performances ahead of next year’s WrestleMania, where, according to BodySlam, he could be facing a very intriguing opponent.
Sources claim Lesnar will lock horns with Bron Breakker, who is currently a member, along with Heyman, of The Vision, a group led by Rollins and also containing Lynch and Bronson Reed. So, it appears either Heyman, or indeed Breakker, will leave the group before then, or Heyman will turn on Lesnar (not for the first time) before ‘Mania.
The report noted that ever since his debut in 2021, Breakker has made a major impact. He won the NXT Championship on two occasions, beating Tomasso Ciampa and Dolph Ziggler (aka Nic Nemeth) respectively. An unlikely alliance with Baron Corbin saw them form the Wolfdogs team and win the NXT Tag Team Titles.
Upon his arrival on the main roster, he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice, beating Sami Zayn and Jey Uso respectively. His wild persona and athleticism have made him a fan favourite, with many legends stating that his Spear was the deadliest version of the finisher among everyone who used it in the wrestling industry. Many have compared his explosive style of being similar to Brock Lesnar’s.
There has been a ton of hype about Breakker ever since his impressive tenure in NXT. With Lesnar not expected to be in the industry much longer, having him do the honours and take losses to build future stars is likely. And doing that for Breakker makes a lot of business sense for WWE.
Other WrestleMania Possibilities For Brock Lesnar
Other names being mentioned as possible WrestleMania opponents for Lesnar include Breakker’s stablemate in The Vision, Bronson Reed, the reigning NXT Champion Oba Femi, CM Punk, who Lesnar has a history with, and Gunther, who Lesnar was scheduled to face at WrestleMania a couple of years ago. Gunther has spoken in the past about considering Lesnar to be his ‘end boss’ in pro wrestling.
The last time Lesnar competed during the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’ was when he defeated Omos at WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
