Brett Favre makes feelings known on Jordan Love defeating Aaron Rodgers for big win on SNF

Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre shared his honest thoughts after Jordan Love defeated his ex-mentor and teammate, Aaron Rodgers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. He tweeted a congratulatory message for the Packers quarterback on X."Congratulations to Jordan Love for his 20-straight completions in a row and the Packers on the big win last night!" Favre said.Sunday's game was the four-time NFL MVP's first face-off with his former team of 18 years after being traded back in 2023. Unfortunately, Rodgers could not end the night with a win under his belt. He completed 24 of 36 passes for 219 yards and two passing touchdowns. On the other hand, despite trailing the Steelers 16-7 at halftime, Jordan Love and the Packers' offense found their momentum in the second half of the game. The quarterback, who spent three seasons as a backup to Rodgers in Green Bay, completed 29 of 37 passes for 360 yards and three passing touchdowns. After the game, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith called out Mike Tomlin's defense, criticizing the way they played against the Packers (5-1-1)."When I look at that Pittsburgh Steelers defense, I'm like, 'What the hell has happened?'" Smith said on Monday's episode of his show (Timestamp-1:50). "I watched the Green Bay Packers last night outscore the Pittsburgh Steelers 28 to 9 in the second half. I watched Jordan Love move the ball all over the field like the second coming of Joe Montana."There's nothing steel or hardened about the Steelers defense. They are soft as Cottonelle tissue."After Sunday's loss, Aaron Rodgers has tallied a total of 1,489 yards and 16 TDs passing for the Steelers (4-3).Packers DE Micah Parsons had high praise for Jordan Love as Aaron Rodgers' successor in Green BayIn the post-game press conference, $188 million star Micah Parsons gave his seal of approval to Love as Rodgers' successor in Green Bay."He's showed he's the successor," Parsons said as per ESPN. "He's the up-and-coming. Like J-Love, talking about when I was coming here, I was like, 'I know they got a quarterback, I know I've got a quarterback.' I'm just so proud of him, everything he's been through, how he's developed as a player, how he's developed as a person, and he's just playing some really good football right now."Jordan Love was named QB1 after the Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the Jets in 2023. He's helped the team make two playoff appearances. This season, the quarterback has recorded 1,798 yards and 13 TDs passing.
