Rhonda’s advocacy inspired many, including Karen Burks and Angela Lewis, to get screened at a Detroit Health Department clinic, underscoring the necessity of accessible resources. Through partnerships with Karmanos, patients receive swift, comfortable screenings, with Rhonda’s experience reinforcing the procedure’s quick and mostly painless nature. Sandy Harvey appeared healthy, maintained normal blood work, and had no family history of breast cancer when she received her diagnosis of stage 2B invasive ductal carcinoma, following a mammogram that was delayed by just six months.
