Brandon Graham to Return to the Eagles: Report

Reports emerged that formerl Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl champion and legend Brandon Graham was considering ending his retirement to rejoin the team. Apparently, those reports are truer than expected. Read more: Eagles Legend Considering Coming Out of Retirement to Rejoin Team The Eagles have one of the most competent offenses in the NFL, but it is the defense that has been a pain point for the reigning Super Bowl champions. Per ESPN, Philadelphia is giving up 349.1 yards per game, which is in the top 10 worst. This includes 221.3 passing yards per game, which is 14th worst, and 127.9 rushing yards per game, which is 11th worst. The Eagles are still 5-2, but they will need a better defense if they are to keep up with the other powerful offenses in the NFC when playoffs come. Graham returning would provide the team with a huge boost in the pass rush and run stop game. The Eagles getting back one of their best defensive ends would be huge, and would also prevent the team from having to upgrade their pass rush at the trade deadline. Per PFF.com, Graham had a 80.1 rush defense rating, and a 71.9 pass rush rating in the 2024 regular season. Graham only secured six sacks in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, but he is still a force on the defense line. The Eagles may need more firepower, but adding Graham would be a huge building block to help bolster the defenes for the rest of the season and beyond. Should Kerr's report be proven true, Graham might be ready to hit the field with the Eagles in Week 10. Philadelphia is set to face the New York Giants in Week 8, followed by a Week 9 bye, then a big "Monday Night Footbal" showdown with the Green Bay Packers. It would make sense for Graham to return by Week 10 to get back to understanding the defensive playbook. He may have only missed half of one season, but things can change rapidly in an offseason.
