Ebony Gladding will definitely be ‘letting it go’ when she jumps out of a plane dressed as Frozen’s Princess Elsa. The 24-year-old from Brigg is raising money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital by doing the skydive. The jump is the latest of her fundraising events where she raises money through her business Little Enchantments ., which provides high-quality characters for children’s parties and events. The Children’s Hospital treated and cared for Ebony when she was younger, “I had a brain tumour when I was younger,” she explained. “I’ve had two brain surgeries and thankfully I’m all good, they saved me. “Now I do this as a way of giving back to the hospital. I make visits for the children and we do parties and events for children that have been there too, it holds a special place in my heart. “The staff there are wonderful, caring and kind, I couldn’t have been more loved. During the most difficult time, they made me feel cared for and at home.” Ebony started Little Enchantments three years ago and has been raising funds ever since. She said: “We personally deliver the cheque to the hospital and we go in costume with as many characters as we can. “We go round the wards that I was on, and we visit all the children. The first time we did this, one of my nurses was there and she remembered me which is a testament to them, that they knew and remembered me after 10 years. “The compassionate care and support my family and I received during those difficult times made a profound impact on our lives. Now, I want to give back to the place that helped me overcome those challenges and inspired me to support those in similar circumstances. “It’s important to me to not only bring joy to children, but help families going through the unimaginable. I’ll be soaring through the sky dressed as Elsa, bringing a little magic to this exhilarating adventure. My goal is to raise as much money as possible for this hospital, that so many rely on for care.” Ebony has been ready for her jump three times already but each time it has been postponed due to weather. She said: “For the skydive I will be wearing my Elsa hair and makeup, I’ve a blue jumpsuit with sparkles. “The first time I didn’t even get to go up at all, the second I went up in the plane to 15,000ft, I was ready to jump and the wind tipped over what it was allowed to be so we had to come back down and the third time, rain meant it was cancelled again.” This Ice Queen is determined to jump, it’s just a matter of when. She said: “I’m so excited to do the jump, I’ve been excited for so long because it was first booked in for the 27th August and even when I got in the plane, there was adrenaline of course but I was just so ready to do this and then when we had to come back down I was so disappointed. “Knowing that so many people have supported me and are waiting to see my jump is an extra incentive so we are doing video for the whole process”. Ebony started Little Enchantments at the age of 21, this year they are nominated for the National Small Business Awards in November.
