Boya Mini 2 Wireless Microphones For iPhone Claims Improved Sound And Noise Cancelation

This tiny wireless microphone kit from Boya can boost the audio quality on videos for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Wireless microphones are having a boom time right now. Content creators on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram know that audiences will forgive a less-than-perfect video, but if the audio is poor quality, it’s an instant turn-off. Nothing loses viewers like subpar sound. The Boya mini 2 is a new and upgraded version of the brand’s first-generation wireless microphone system for iPhones. This latest update of the ultra-compact wireless microphone now features AI-powered noise cancellation and each microphone now weighs just 5g. The new Boya mini offers major improvements in sound quality thanks to AI noise cancellation and safety protection. It’s designed to be a complete wireless microphone kit contained in its own charging case and is about the same size as the case for a pair of wireless earbuds. The Boya mini 2 wireless microphone system has noise cancellation features that can help record better sound in noisy or windy places. The Boya mini 2 kit is designed for convenience and can be taken anywhere for streaming, vlogging or conducting an interview. The new design is billed as reliable, discreet and offering high-performance sound in almost any recording environment. The range is around 100m with a clear line of sight. MORE FOR YOU Each of the tiny microphones weighs a mere 5g and is designed to be easily clipped onto a hat, shirt collar or lanyard. The charging case is constructed from a high-impact plastic and is available in a choice of Matte Black or Lunar Silver finishes to create a smart appearance on camera. The microphones’ noise cancellation system is AI-powered and is deep neural network-trained using more than 700,000 real-world noise samples. Powered by Boya’s 2025-Level Neural Network-Based AINC algorithm, the system claims to identify and reduce complex background noises in a matter of milliseconds. The level of noise cancellation has been increased from -21dB to -40dB for smarter noise suppression compared to more traditional DSP/ENC technologies. The Boya mini 2 microphones are tiny and have a spring-loaded clip, windshield and yet they each weigh just 5g and can work for around six hours on a single charge. There are two flexible noise cancellation modes on the Boya mini 2. The Strong Mode filters out environmental noise by up to -40 dB and is suitable for crowded streets or live events. For quieter situations, there is a Light Mode which shaves up to -15dB off the background noise to preserve more of the natural ambiance of a scene. The sample rate used by Boya mini 2 is 48kHz and 24-bit, which is an improvement on the 16-bit technology used in the first generation. This means the microphones are potentially able to capture studio-grade sound which should result in richer vocals, making the Boya mini 2 suitable for interviews and podcasts. With a Signal-to-Noise ratio of 80dB, the Boya mini 2 present a low noise floor which results in cleaner audio and less hiss. The 120dB Max SPL figure should help prevent distortion from loud voices or instruments, making the mics suitable for recording music at festivals or gigs. The Boya mini 2 comes with two recievers, one with USB-C connector and the other with an Apple Lightning connector. Other features that are new on the Boya mini 2 include a built-in low-cut filter. Each microphone is fitted with a foam windshield to reduce rumble and wind noise if recording outdoors. Also new to this generation is the Dual Audio Protection feature, which has an automatic limiter and can record a backup safety track at -12dB. The protection feature records a useful backup track recorded at a lower volume, so if there are any sudden peaks in the sound or distortion from loud inputs, the safety track can be used to patch things up. This is a handy feature for those one-take situations where there’s no chance of a reshoot. Controlling settings with the Boya Central app provides an intuitive way of adjusting the advanced settings such as fine-tuning EQ, gain levels, AI noise settings and updating firmware using a smartphone. The app is a convenient for real-time control during solo filming or live sessions. The Boya Central app is available in both iOS and Android versions. The two wireless transmitter microphones that come with the Boya mini 2 are tiny. A full charge of the microphones’ batteries can furnish up to six hours of use. That figure increases to 30 hours using the reserve power held in the Boya mini 2’s charging case. That amount of time should be enough to see content creators through a full day’s shooting as the mics can be popped back in the case whenever they are not in use. The Boya mini 2 kit includes both USB-C and Apple Lightning adapters, so if you haven’t upgraded your iPhone to a newer model, you can be confident that the wireless mics will still work when you do get your new phone. The microphones and receiver unit pair automatically with each other and the connection is confirmed with a solid blue LED.
