Bosch appoints Dan Lăzărescu as General Manager of Robert Bosch S.R.L. and Group Representative in Romania

Bosch, a leading global supplier of technologies and services, announces the appointment of Dan Lăzărescu as General Manager of Robert Bosch S.R.L. and Representative of the Bosch Group in Romania, effective October 1, 2025. He succeeds Mihai Boldijar, who has led Bosch Group’s operations in Romania for the past ten years and is retiring after a 30-year career within the company.

An engineer with more than 24 years of national and international experience, Dan Lăzărescu graduated from the Politehnica University of Bucharest, where he also earned a PhD. He began his professional career with Bosch in Stuttgart in 2001. After spending many years abroad in various key positions in software and hardware engineering, he decided to return to Romania.

“Taking on the role of General Manager of Robert Bosch S.R.L. and Group Representative in Romania is a great honor and a responsibility I embrace with confidence,” said Dan Lăzărescu. “I have grown both as a professional and as a person within Bosch, moving through all stages and gaining experience both internationally and locally. Although we are going through a period of major transformation – both at the industry level and within Bosch – I have learned that challenges can be turned into growth opportunities, and this will be one of my main goals. For the future, I want us to continue with a clear direction and stability in order to remain competitive. At the same time, I want to thank Mihai Boldijar, who is almost synonymous with Bosch’s history in Romania, for the way he has led the organization, especially during these challenging years. I have full confidence in the high-quality people at Bosch – they are our greatest strength. I want us to keep growing and to prove that, even in difficult contexts, Bosch succeeds, through resilience and professionalism, in remaining a benchmark in the industry.”

Dan Lăzărescu brings over 24 years of engineering expertise, including more than 18 years of international experience in Germany and Hungary. He has contributed to major automotive projects for markets in Europe, North America, Japan, and China. Throughout his career, he has managed complex teams of more than 500 people, demonstrating strong transformational leadership skills and a consistent focus on innovation and performance. Within the Bosch Group, he has held significant positions in Stuttgart, Budapest, and Cluj-Napoca, including within the Bosch Engineering Center Cluj, with responsibilities ranging from automotive control units to hardware development and driver assistance solutions for the global market. Holding a PhD in digital signal processing for automotive applications, Dan Lăzărescu is a recognized professional in the industry and an example of Bosch’s organizational culture, which has always prioritized talent development and professional growth opportunities.

“My professional journey at Bosch comes to an end after three decades of working alongside dedicated colleagues to build a strong foundation and to harmoniously develop what Bosch Group in Romania represents today,” said Mihai Boldijar. “At this important moment, I want to look to the future with full confidence in Dan Lăzărescu’s ability to guide the company into this new chapter. I know him well and I highly value his professionalism. I am sure he will be an accessible, authentic, and practical leader who embodies the spirit of ‘Be #LikeABosch,’ strengthening trust in the company’s leadership. I am deeply grateful to retire after 30 years of activity, looking back with pride at everything we have built together as part of the great Bosch family – to whom I extend my heartfelt thanks.”

The Bosch Group has been present in Romania for over 30 years and currently employs more than 10,000 people. In 2024, Bosch recorded consolidated sales of 529.5 million euros in Romania. Total net sales, including non-consolidated companies and internal deliveries to affiliated companies, amounted to 2.4 billion euros.
