Boone County road closure just south of Harrison lasts through Friday

Your browser does not support the audio element. HARRISON -- A portion of a state highway in Boone County just south of Harrison is closed this week as state road crews work to replace a box culvert. Arkansas 206 east of Arkansas 7 is closed between Whispering Pine Road and Prairie View Road through 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Arkansas Department of Transportation. The closure began Monday morning. Arkansas 206 will remain open to local traffic only on either side of the closure, the release states. Digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades and signs are in place to notify drivers of the closing. The transportation department offered the following detour routes for those seeking to get around the closure: To reach the west side of the closure, drivers should take Arkansas 206 east to U.S. 65, then travel north to Arkansas 7 before taking that state highway south to the other side of Arkansas 206. To reach the east side of the closure, drivers should take Arkansas 2106 west to Arkansas 7, then travel north to U.S. 65 before taking that federal highway south to the other side of Arkansas 206.
