Bonzali Rural Bank (BRB) PLC has held its maiden customer appreciation luncheon in Tamale, recognising twenty distinguished clients for their loyalty, business growth and contribution to the local economy.
The event, which brought together entrepreneurs, traders, agribusiness owners, salaried workers and community leaders, served as an opportunity for management to interact more informally with customers, strengthen bonds and reaffirm the bank’s commitment to building a resilient financial future.
Awardees were recognised across categories such as SME Growth, Agri-Value Chain Impact, Digital Banking Adoption, Youth Enterprise, Community Leadership and Longstanding Loyalty. Each received a plaque, four bags of rice, five cups and a branded diary.
Recipients included Damba Issah, a teacher, farmer and cement dealer; Abdul-Razak Zakari, a teacher and trader; Mutawakil Faida, a nurse and drugstore operator; Obe Samson Oliver; Abdulai Imoro, a motorbike spare parts dealer; and Alidu Kwaku, a building materials supplier. Others were Oheneba Nuakoh Manu, Victor Ogbonna of UDS Nyankpala Campus, Mohammed Tia, Ibrahim Tahiru and NAAGAMNI Ghana Ltd.
The rest were Ahmed Ma-Ashurk Suhuyini, Yussif Nawara, Alhassan Sham-Una, Naa Alhaji Iddirisu Abu (a traditional ruler), Abdulai Gonje Enterprise, Namlan Company Ltd. and Mohammed Lawal Abubakari.
Life Patron of BRB, Kumbun-Naa Alhaji Naa Abu Iddrisu II, Paramount Chief of the Kumbungu Traditional Area, commended staff for their dedication to the bank’s growth and urged management to further deepen customer relationships.
Board Chair Alhaji Iddrisu Abu Abdul-Hanan encouraged customers to maintain their confidence in the bank, stressing that continued patronage would enable BRB to extend financial support to businesses.
“Deepening financial inclusion through agent banking and mobile channels, expanding SME and agribusiness support with tailored credit, and promoting responsible borrowing and savings culture have been the priority of the bank,” he noted.
Chief Executive Officer of BRB PLC, Dr Augustine Ngmentomo Beakana, said the programme underscored the bank’s commitment to customer-centric banking and sustainable local development.
“It is to express our deep gratitude to customers for their enduring trust and unwavering support, while reaffirming our commitment to providing innovative financial solutions, excellent service and strong partnerships that help them grow and achieve their dreams,” he said.
He emphasised that the luncheon will become an annual fixture to celebrate customers who demonstrate excellence, transparency and community impact.
Customers commended management for flexible repayment terms, responsive relationship officers and the bank’s willingness to understand seasonal cash-flow realities, particularly in agro-linked businesses.
