Body of missing British man found in Estepona

The body of a man, believed to be a 65-year-old British citizen reported missing on August 15, was discovered Saturday morning in the Paraiso area of Estepona, near the last place he was seen, according to the National Police.

The identity of the deceased and the cause of death are yet to be confirmed, pending an autopsy. The discovery was made during an extensive search operation involving the National Police, Estepona Civil Protection, and local firefighters.

Police have revealed that an exhaustive investigation has been ongoing, retracing the steps of the man, who was reportedly preparing to move back to his home country before his disappearance. Investigators, supported by other local security agencies, narrowed down his last known movements, leading to an expanded search in the area.

The Paraiso neighbourhood, described as a dense, wooded area with thick undergrowth, had previously been searched using drones without success. On the morning of Saturday, September 20, however, the search team located the body. Authorities are now awaiting autopsy results to confirm the victim’s identity and determine the cause of death.
