CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV/Gray News) – A person was found dead in the landing gear of an American Airlines plane at the Charlotte airport.
On Sunday, police said just after 9 a.m., while performing maintenance on a plane that had recently arrived from Europe, a stowaway was found dead at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
A stowaway is someone who hides on an airplane to travel without paying or being seen.
The person was pronounced dead on the scene by officers.
An American Airlines spokesperson said the airline is working with law enforcement on its investigation.
