Each full week of the fall season, BoCoPreps is highlighting 10 teams and 10 athletes that had exceptional performances. Teams Boulder boys soccer: The No. 9 Panthers beat rival No. 8 Fairview in the second round of the 5A playoffs on Tuesday before falling 1-0 to No. 1 Ralston Valley on Saturday. Boulder boys soccer falls in tight quarterfinal match against Ralston Valley Broomfield gymnastics: The Eagles won the 5A state championship on Thursday at Thornton High School, thwarting second-place Chatfield 182.275-179.175. It was their fifth state title in program history and first since 2022. Broomfield gymnastics captures gold at Class 5A state championships Erie football: The No. 12 Tigers beat No. 21 Regis Jesuit in the opening round of the 5A playoffs, 20-3. They'll travel to No. 5 Valor Christian on Friday for the second round. Erie football beats Regis Jesuit in 5A first round Frederick football: The No. 15 Golden Eagles beat No. 18 Bear Creek 35-7 in the opening round of the 4A playoffs. They travel to No. 2 Montrose on Saturday for the second round. Easy Delpizz-y: Frederick football’s Sonny Delpizzo runs Bear Creek ragged Jefferson Academy boys soccer: The No. 2 Jaguars beat Lamar and Coal Ridge last week to advance to the 3A semifinals, which is Wednesday at the North Area Athletic Complex in Arvada. Legacy boys soccer: The No. 4 Lightning beat No. 13 Broomfield in overtime in the second round of the 5A playoffs on Tuesday before falling to No. 12 Cherokee Trail on Saturday. Legacy beats Broomfield in boys soccer 2nd round Mead volleyball: The 4A No. 9 Mavericks beat Steamboat Springs and Conifer last weekend to advance to this week's state tournament. They'll open against No. 8 Battle Mountain on Thursday. Mead volleyball, led by cousins Elena Gomez and Rylee Klatt, earn state bid Niwot gymnastics: The Cougars won their second straight 4A title with a score 184.050. It was their eighth title in program history, tying them for third all-time on the state leaderboard. (Bear Creek leads the way with 11). Niwot gymnastics reclaims Class 4A state title Niwot volleyball: The 5A No. 12 Cougars beat Horizon and Pueblo West at regionals on Saturday, advancing to the 5A state tournament this week. They'll face No. 5 Rampart in the opening round on Thursday. Silver Creek boys soccer: The No. 2 Raptors beat Rampart 2-1 in overtime, then defending champ Air Academy 3-0 in the 4A quarterfinals to advance to Wednesday's semifinals at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood. There, tey'll face No. 6 Greeley Central. Silver Creek soccer stuns Rampart 45 seconds into overtime Athletes Parker Brown, Silver Creek boys soccer: He scored the overtime winner against Rampart in the second round of the 4A playoffs, then had two goals and an assist in the Raptors' 3-0 win over Air Academy on Saturday. Troy Brown, Jefferson Academy boys soccer: The senior scored four times across the second and third round of the Class 3A playoffs last week. He has 31 goals this season. Sonny Delpizzo, Frederick football: The senior ran for 209 yards and three scores as the No. 15 Golden Eagles beat No. 18 Bear Creek 35-7 in the opening round of the 4A playoffs. Elena Gomez, Mead volleyball: The senior led the team in kills in both regional matches on Saturday, leading the Mavericks past Steamboat Springs (3-0) and Conifer (3-1) and into the state tournament. Across the seven sets, she had 24 kills on a better than .500 hitting average. Charlotte O'Neill, Niwot gymnastics: The sophomore helped the Cougars win the 4A team title on Friday, then finished second in the individual beam (9.600) on Saturday. Miata Santos, Broomfield gymnastics: The senior was second on the Eagles and seventh overall in the 5A all-around competition, helping lead Broomfield to a team title on Thursday. She finished sixth in individual beam (9.250) and fourth in floor (9.425) on Saturday. Genevieve Saunders, Niwot gymnastics: The junior repeated as the all-around 4A state champion with a score of 37.800 on Friday. On Saturday during individual championships, she won vault (9.650), beam (9.700), took third in floor (9.475) and was ninth in bars (9.475). Kylie Wilson, Niwot gymnastics: The junior finished second on the Cougars and 11th overall (35.625) in the 4A all-around competition to help guide Niwot to a team title on Friday. Lili Wojahn, Broomfield gymnastics: The senior had an all-around score of 37.500 as the Eagles won the 5A state championship on Thursday. On Saturday during individual championships, she finished second in vault (9.500), fifth in bars (9.250), seventh in beam (9.100) and eighth in floor (9.125). Audrina Zanella, Broomfield gymnastics: The freshman helped the Eagles win the 5A team title on Thursday, then took second in vault (9.550) in the individual meet on Saturday.
