Bobby Wales attracting Scottish Premiership interest as ex Kilmarnock prodigy eyed for January move

Bobby Wales is attracting increasing loan interest from both sides of the border. The striker has been in impressive form and scored six goals in four games for the Swansea City’s under-21 team in recent weeks. Aberdeen and Hibs both made deadline day enquiries about the Scotland under-21 cap, but it proved to be too late in the day to get either deal done. English League One sides Barnsley and Lincoln City are both long-term admirers, as are Championship side Preston. The Scotland under-21 international moved to the English Championship side in the summer from Kilmarnock. He was brought in with a view of development but also getting first-team exposure. The problem for Wales is that director of football, Richard Montague, who brought him in has since departed and so have other key recruitment staff. Swansea boss Alan Sheehan sees Wales as a good long-term prospect but wants him to cut his teeth first. The possibility of him going out to get games from January is one that both Wales and his team would consider. The 20-year-old came through the ranks at Killie under Derek McInnes He was a first-team regular last season before he decided to move on, with the Ayrshire side landing training compensation.
