Actor Bobby Deol is winning hearts in Aryan Khan’s debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. In a recent podcast, Raj Shamani pointed out the similarities between Bobby and Aryan- both are ‘insiders’ with superstar dads. Raj asked Bobby if he had noticed any personal similarities between himself and Aryan. Bobby said Aryan is far more talented than him, and has already seen a lot of hardship in life.
Bobby Deol said, “I guess, I wish I had the same fire like he has now. I mean, I started off with a lot of fire… but things got delayed for me a lot… Other than that, no, I think he’s very talented. I don’t know if I am that talented. His persona, he attracts you.”
Bobby explained, “He has this thing about him. He just attracts you.” When asked if Aryan must be facing the same pressure as Bobby did, he said, “Definitely. I’m sure he is. I mean, he has been through a lot more than I have, in many other ways, which no child should ever go through. But that’s the way the world is becoming right now.”
Bobby Deol was seemingly hinting at Aryan Khan’s arrest. Aryan Khan was infamously embroiled in a drug-related case in 2021. Although he was given a clean chit in 2022, his arrest led to quite a frenzy, given that he is the son of Shah Rukh Khan. Bobby Deol said that in his youth, star kids didn’t have to be cautious while partying as there was no social media and pap culture.
Bobby Deol previously compared Aryan Khan to himself and said that it is not easy to outgrow the shadow of India’s biggest superstar. During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Bobby Deol said, “I felt a lot of fatherly emotions, because I also have kids, and both of them want to come in this industry. It’s not easy, because being from the family which is already existing and to come out of the shadows of the biggest Indian superstar in the world.”
The actor added, “For me, it was my dad and brother. Being Shah Rukh Khan’s son, it’s not an easy task. But, I think this child has no fear for that. He is fearless. He has this fire that makes him so unique and one of his kind. When he was directing me, I always felt so nice and happy like my own son is directing me. I could just feel it.”
“The way he used to direct each and every one of us. He would enact those characters while explaining. He would get into the depth of it and make us do a lot of takes, because he knew that we have something which he was looking for. He would get that, and then only he would say it’s okay. I think that’s an amazing quality,” he concluded.
