Board Exams exam: Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar, who was on a visit to Kota district, made a major announcement for students. He said that the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), Ajmer, will now allow students to appear for board exams twice in a single academic session. This new system will be implemented from the next academic session. Minister Dilawar explained that this step was taken under the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The new education policy aims to provide students with greater opportunities and flexibility to better demonstrate their abilities. He stated that it will be mandatory for all students to appear for the first board exam, while those who pass the exam will have the opportunity to appear for a second exam to improve their scores in up to three subjects. Dilawar also clarified that students who are declared supplementary will be allowed to appear for a second chance exam in a maximum of three subjects. This will include supplementary subjects, so that students no longer have to wait a year and can improve their results in the same session. What did the Education Minister say? From now on, the Rajasthan Board will conduct examinations twice a year. The first main examination will be held in February-March, and after the results are declared, a second examination, called the “Second Chance Examination,” will be held in May-June. Both examinations will be based on the full syllabus of the same session. This means students will not have to undertake any new or different preparation. The study plan and examination system will remain the same both times. Dilawar said that if a student is absent from the main examination, they will be allowed to appear for the second examination only upon presenting a medical certificate or a certificate issued by the District Education Officer. This arrangement will only be applicable to students with a valid reason for their absence. This will be the fee The Education Minister stated that the fee for the second chance examination will be the same as for the main examination. Students will not face any financial burden due to this arrangement. Furthermore, the Board has also decided to implement the “best of two” principle. This means that the student’s higher marks in both examinations will be included in the final result. This will reduce the pressure on students to score good marks in the first examination to a great extent. Read More: UPI now works without a bank account!
