BMW Driver Arrested From Delhi Hospital After Finance Ministry Official's Death In Car Crash

The woman who was driving the BMW car, which hit and killed a Finance Ministry official in Delhi on Sunday, was arrested on Monday.
The development came after a team from the Delhi Police visited the Nulife Hospital and Maternity Centre, GTB Nagar, in Delhi, where the woman and her husband were admitted.
The victim and his wife were also admitted to the same hospital, where the Finance Ministry official succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, an FIR was filed on Monday in the case, based on the complaint of the victim’s wife.
As per the FIR, she requested multiple times to the woman driver to take them to the nearest hospital so that the initial first aid could be given.
However, the accused denied and took them to a hospital at least 19 km away.
The victim’s wife also claimed that she was kept on a stretcher for several hours, after which she again requested to be shifted to a different hospital. However, the woman driver denied.
Later, as her son came, she and her husband were shifted to another hospital in Delhi’s Dwarka area.
Following the accident, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team reached the accident scene to analyse the circumstances leading to the accident.
The FSL team also inspected the BMW car and the bike involved in the incident.
Earlier, on Sunday, the fatal accident on Ring Road near Dhaula Kuan left the Finance Ministry official dead, while his wife was injured, after a BMW car hit their motorcycle.
As per the Delhi police, the deceased, identified as Navjot Singh, lived in Hari Nagar and was riding with his wife on the motorcycle when the collision happened.
Further, the bike-borne couple hit a bus on their left.
The son of the deceased, Navnoor Singh, later questioned why his parents were taken to a far-off hospital, rather than admitting them to a nearby facility.
