The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh-Vizianagaram district president N. Appala Raju on Monday urged the government to establish an Employees State Insurance Corporation dispensary in Pusapatirega industrial corridor, Vizianagaram district to enable over 35,000 workers avail medical facilities in the region. He shared that presently workers were being forced to travel to Pydibhimavaram dispensary in Srikakulam district to avail medical treatment
In a press release, Mr. Appala Raju said that the establishment of the ESIC dispensary with full-fledged medical team would benefit workers of more than 20 companies such as HBL Power Systems, Matrix Laboratories, SMS Pharmaceuticals Limited, Vizianagaram Biotech, Veda biotech and others.
He said: “We recently submitted a memorandum to the ESIC Central Board member S. Dorai Raja requesting the establishment of a dispensary near Matrix junction so that all workers could avail medical facility easily. We also sought referral permission locally to enable workers to join private hospitals in Vizianagaram in case of emergencies.“
“Currently, workers have to obtain referral permissions from the ESIC authorities in Malkapuram Visakhapatnam. This causes delays in admitting injured patients immediately to private hospitals.” he added.
