Blumhouse Games & Asgard Develop 'Fear The Spotlight' As Graphic Novel

EXCLUSIVE: The games unit of horror specialist Blumhouse is working with Asgard Books on a graphic novel version of video game Fear the Spotlight. Patricia Villeto (Sonic Prime) is writing the adaptation, with the novel debuting on Kickstarter early 2026. Claudia Leonardi, whose visuals featured on Life is Strange, is illustrating. The story follows two girls, Vivian Singh and Amy Tanaka, who are pitted against a dark force as they travel back in time to uncover a deadly mystery at a local farm where teenagers have been killed. Fear the Spotlight was Blumhouse Games‘ debut title and launched last year on Steam. It followed Vivian as she explores and friend Amy explore the deserted corridors of Sunnyside High until an attempted seance goes horribly wrong, and Amy vanishes. Vivian is the tasked with surviving the gaze of the Spotlight, solving puzzles, finding Amy, and uncovering the disturbing truth behind a decades-old tragedy. “Fear the Spotlight takes on a powerful new form in the upcoming graphic novel,” said Zach Wood, President, Blumhouse Games. “Together with Asgard Books’ incredible team of writers and artists, we’re exploring the next chapter of Vivian and Amy’s story, peeling back layers of mystery and emotion. There’s so much more to their adventures that will come alive in a new, visually captivating graphic novel.” “There’s no other horror brand that has captured the zeitgeist with boldness and fan connection than Blumhouse and we are thrilled to be partnering on developing this adaptation,” said Matthew Medney, Co-Publisher at Asgard Books, which is a joint venture between L.A. publisher Gungnir and Animation Avenue, which has adapted the likes of Hello Neighbor, Sonic the Hedgehog and Five Nights at Freddy’s as animated productions.
