Democrat William L. Strassburg II defeated Republican Mayor John L. White as Democrats swept citywide elections Tuesday. The outcome was expected in the Town of Tonawanda, where Democrats have won every Town Board race since 2007 and enjoy a 20-point advantage over Republicans among registered voters.
