According to Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider, there is only one pitcher whom he will not put in Game 4 of the World Series. The Jays just went through a war on Monday, playing 18 innings and rolling out all of their relievers in an attempt to take a 2-1 lead in the World Series. Sadly for Schneider and his team, they fell short after Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run. About 17 hours removed from their crushing loss, they are tasked with refocusing on Game 4, trying to even up the series at 2-2 or risk facing an elimination game on Wednesday. He pitched 68 pitches in his last four postseason starts, a number that he reached in his Game 3 outing. He walked four batters, though he only allowed two hits. The Dodgers threatened at a couple of points during his time on the mound, but they were unable to score until Brendon Little came in and gave up the homer. “[Schneider] came up to me a few times and asked if I was good,” Lauer said after the game. “Of course I was good. I was ready to go, and that’s pretty much all we left it at. He was like, ‘This is your game. We’re going to try to win it for you. Just keep going out there and doing your thing.’” The Blue Jays will hope Bieber can give them an extended outing so they don’t have to use too many relievers again.
