“I think we’re just a really close-knit group that we don’t really feel too much pressure,” Gausman said. “We just kind of try to win the day and these guys have been resilient all year. They seem to know when to say, ‘All right, we need to take it to another level.’

“It’s been fun to watch guys take the next step. It takes being here the last couple of years to kind of see the big picture. Hats off to the organization for taking the next step as well when it comes to personnel.”

His final start of the 2025 season on Tuesday obviously is a big one, only to be topped by what happens in what will be his ninth post-season appearance.

“It’s go time,” Gausman said. “If you love sports, this is the best time of year. It’s going to be fun from here on in.”
