Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer left Game 3 of the World Series with an apparent injury after taking a massive swing at a pitch. The ball did not hit Springer, though the motion itself ended up bothering Springer enough for him to come out of the game. Ty France replaced him. Springer was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the game before leaving. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 27: George Springer #4 of the Toronto Blue Jays strikes out during the fourth inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers in game three of the 2025 World Series at Dodger Stadium on October 27, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images) When Springer got hurt, there was some cheering heard by the Dodger fans in the crowd, who booed him loudly at the start of every at-bat. Dodgers fans have not forgotten Springer’s role in the Houston Astros’ cheating scandal, which cost Los Angeles a World Series title in 2017. More news: Dodgers Considering Benching Outfielder for World Series Game Before the game, manager John Schneider called for Dodger fans not to boo him, considering how much time had passed. “You know, it’s just, I wish the baseball world would just stop that whole thing, you know what I mean?” Schneider said before Game 3. “Yeah, it’s unfortunate, but he’s ready for it. “He’s been doing it for a long time, you know. And these fans get on everyone, you know, they’re legit, which is funny because I don’t even think they sold out their place in the first couple of rounds of playoffs for whatever reason. “They like to get on the opposing team. It is funny that they have guys on their team that they used to boo, too, so it kind of just comes with the territory. But George is pretty well-versed in hearing it for whatever reason.” The Blue Jays should provide an update on Springer after the game.
