Blue Jays’ Bo Bichette Declares Free Agency Desires After World Series Loss

Following the Toronto Blue Jays‘ devastating World Series loss, shortstop Bo Bichette addressed his impending free agency. For a moment, it looked like Bichette was about to cement himself as a Blue Jays legend after he hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning of Game 7. Unfortunately for the infielder, his moment is just a sidenote in what amounted to a World Series loss. The Dodgers fought their way back and took home the crown, and with his free agency looming, Bichette’s future remains up in the air. More news: Blue Jays’ Ernie Clement Makes Postseason History in World Series Game 7 Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bichette’s teammate dating back to the minor leagues, signed a massive 14-year, $500 million contract extension in April, keeping him in Canada for the rest of his playing days. As for his close friend Bichette, Guerrero Jr. wants the same. “I would love to finish my career playing with him,” Guerreo Jr. said after Game 7. Bichette worked his way back from a knee injury, which limited his mobility. He was out for nearly two months, dating back to the end of the season, though he returned just in time for the World Series, playing second base instead of shortstop. He went 8-for-23 with a home run and four walks in the World Series, once again showing his ability as an elite contact bat. Considering how great he looked in the World Series, he should be in line for a notable payday, either from Toronto or another team. Odds are, if the Jays want to make a reunion happen, the ball will be in their court, and Bichette has already laid his cards out on the table.
