A lorry had a blow out on the A-4 within the Province of Córdoba. As he sat in his vehicle waiting for assistance, he decided to snort some cocaine. However, he was so engrossed in the task that he didn’t notice the Guardia Civil had pulled up behind the lorry and were walking round to the cabin… This happened on Wednesday around 18.00h. The DGT had received several calls to say that there was a lorry stopped on the hard shoulder of the autovía, so they sent out a patrol to investigate. When they peered into the cab it was to see the 37-year-old driver busily sniffing up cocaine, oblivious not only to their presence but also to the danger that the parked articulated lorry and scattered tyre remains presented to other drivers. Not surprisingly, they booked him not only for consuming drugs at the wheel, but also for not removing the remains of the tyre from the road surface.
