Real Oviedo midfielder, Kwasi Sibo delighted for his Black Stars debut and the reception he received as he helps Ghana clinch a narrow victory over Mali in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
On Monday, September 8, the Black Stars of Ghana played their Matchday 8 of the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against fellow West African side, Mali as the Black Stars narrowly edged past their opponents in a heated tussle. The two West African sides locked horns at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday night as the Black Stars won meticulously in front of their home fans.
In the game, 27-year old midfielder, Kwasi Sibo stole the entire show as he dazzled in his first ever start for the Black Stars, making his full debut in just his maiden call-up to the senior national team. Having never represented the nation at any level, the former Cheetah FC midfielder did not take long in etching a good name on the heart of Ghanaians as he settled effortlessly into the team as though he has been with them for the entire period of the qualification period.
His partnership in midfield with deputy captain, Thomas Partey was just so incredible as they both understood each other and delivered exponentially in the heart of midfield for the Black Stars; also, people believed because they both play in the Spanish La Liga, they could be a secret to that incredible telepathy. Sibo lasted the entire duration of the game and left everything on the pitch as he helped Ghana clinch the crucial victory.
Having earned a late call-up to the Black Stars, the former Watforf FC man saw nothing but only an opportunity to prove what he has in store and also why he has been waiting for a national team for all levels for all this while. After the game, the combative midfielder took to the internet to express his delight and excitement after his full international debut:

Kwasi Sibo after his impressive outing on his debut, was loved by a host of Ghanaian football enthusiasts as they heaped praises on the Real Oviedo man and will be looking forward to having him represent the nation in future games.
