Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is giving players a reason to stick around after the campaign ends instead of hopping directly into its multiplayer modes. On Monday, developer Treyarch detailed the campaign's Endgame, a new PvE mode for the series. After completing the 11 co-op campaign missions, players will unlock Endgame. You can play it solo or as squads of up to four teammates, and it'll support up to 32 players total. Even if you haven't beaten the campaign yourself, you can still play Endgame by being invited to a squad by a party leader who has unlocked the mode. Endgame will drop players into Avalon, from the game's campaign, and will include locations inspired by previous Black Ops games. You'll play as one of the characters from the story or a new Operator (there are 24 available to choose from). Like in multiplayer modes, you'll customize your Operator's Loadout before dropping into the fray, and there are plenty of major and minor abilities to choose from. They include Ballistic Shell that allows you to drop an energy shield down for defense, Crash Cart to instantly revive yourself and squadmates, War Machine to wield a powerful grenade launcher, and many more. The Avalon map is quite large, and divided into different zones that increase in difficulty. Over the course of a match in Endgame, your Combat Rating will increase, "earning new Skills and Power Upgrades across Health, Armor, Speed, and Damage," according to the blog post. However, like in extraction shooters, you'll lose them if you die in a shootout. Additionally, if you don't successfully get out of Avalon by the end of the match timer, you can kiss all your progression goodbye. All in all, there's a lot to unpack from Endgame, and you can head to the Call of Duty blog for the full rundown of the mode. Endgame looks to be a mix of elements from past Call of Duty modes like DMZ and Modern Warfare Zombies, and, judging by comments on YouTube and Reddit, players are excited to check out the new mode. Call of Duty: Black Opes 7 launches Nov. 14 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
