BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav has said the next-generation GST reforms effective from September 22 will benefit people of all sectors and sections.
Making a PowerPoint presentation here on Saturday on the reforms announced by the Centre recently, Mr. Madhav said the number of GST slabs were slashed to two.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for ushering in the reforms, Mr. Madhav said the country was making rapid strides on the economic front due to these reforms.
“While other countries are passing through economic slowdown, India is making its way towards reaching the top under the leadership of Mr. Modi,” he said.
“The country has showed tremendous growth in defence, railways, agriculture, industrial and pharma sectors, and is now in a position to export to other countries,” he said, while explaining the tax that would be slashed on each product.
Temple chairman calls on Madhav
Earlier in the day, P. Ramesh Naidu, who was appointed Chairman of the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple Trust Board in Srisailam, called on Mr. Madhav at the party office.
Mr. Madhav said that Mr. Ramesh Naidu had been a dedicated worker of the party since his days as an ABVP activist. “His appointment proves that committed workers will be honoured by the party,” Mr. Madhav said, and advised the party activists to adopt the policy of ‘Nation First, Party Next, Self Last’.
