The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has planned 50 ‘Maha Padayatras’ to expose the failures of BRS, the deceit of the Congress Government, and highlight the contributions of the Modi government to Telangana, said Union Minister of Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday. At a press conference, he challenged the Congress and BRS to explain what they have done for Jubilee Hills. “Walk two kilometres on the pothole-ridden roads and ask people for votes,” the BJP leader said. Former CM KCR, who once promised to turn Hyderabad into Istanbul or Singapore, is now confined to his farmhouse. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s attempts to deflect blame are unacceptable, he maintained. The BJP leader has strongly condemned the Congress party’s conduct during the byelection campaign, accusing it of crossing all limits and resorting to deceit and intimidation tactics. The Chief Minister, in particular, has been accused of misleading voters with ‘false promises and manipulative strategies’, he said. “False promises have become a habit for both parties. Hyderabad is not just Hi-Tec City — it includes many neglected slums. Street lights don’t work, drainage flows on roads, and potholes make walking difficult. Fix these issues before asking for votes,” demanded Mr. Reddy. The Congress and BRS are two sides of the same coin. KCR and Harish Rao served as ministers under Congress rule. BJP has never allied with either party and never will. Their political drama is nothing but a staged act, he said. He also questioned the ‘selective appeasement’ where land and ministerial posts are offered to one community while ignoring others. The State government is also spreading lies about the Metro project, with no takeover from L&T or completion of the DPR. Campaigning gathers pace Meanwhile, BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao said that if the previous BRS government was rejected by people due to corruption, the present Congress government has relied only on ‘contractors and commissions’, and follows the path of corruption, intimidation and communal politics. People are expressing their ire for luring them with money in Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency, he alleged. Urging people to give an opportunity to the BJP, Mr. Rao called upon youth, women and educated people, to join the party and build a glorious future for Telangana with everyone’s cooperation. He later, led an intensive padayatra in Jubilee Hills.
