Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday alleged that BJP leaders who had exercised their franchise in Delhi also cast their votes in the first phase of the Bihar assembly polls.Addressing an election rally in Banka, Gandhi said the Congress had produced evidence of "vote chori" (vote theft) in the Haryana polls and that the Election Commission could not deny the charges. The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha had earlier alleged that the Haryana assembly polls last year were "stolen", citing electoral list data to claim that 25 lakh entries were fake and that the Election Commission colluded with the BJP to ensure the party's victory."I came to know yesterday that BJP leaders who cast votes in Delhi also voted in the first phase of Bihar polls (on Thursday)," Gandhi said..preferred-source-banner{ margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom:10px;}"Out of the 2 crore voters in Haryana, 29 lakh electors are fake...The BJP indulged in 'vote chori' in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Haryana, and now they are trying to repeat it in Bihar. But I am certain the people of Bihar will not allow this to happen in their state," he asserted.A fresh political storm erupted on Thursday after the AAP and Congress accused BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha of "voter fraud", alleging that he voted in both the Delhi Assembly elections held in February and the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections held the same day.AAP leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj termed the latest charge a "big expose", claiming that Sinha cast his vote from Dwarka during the Delhi polls earlier this year and again from Siwan in Bihar on Thursday."He teaches at Motilal Nehru College, Delhi University, so he couldn't even show his Bihar address if he knew it. Do you think that if we catch the BJP government's theft, they will mend their ways? Absolutely not, they will indulge in open and blatant theft," Bharadwaj said in a series of posts on X.Reacting to the allegations, Rakesh Sinha said, "I had no idea that politics could be so trivial. Those who question the faith in the Constitution should think a hundred times. My name was in the Delhi voter list. Due to my active involvement in Bihar's politics, I got my name changed to the village of Manser Pur (Begusarai). Should I file a defamation case for this accusation?"He added that his name exists only in Bihar's electoral roll and accused the opposition of spreading lies. "A baseless and morally contested allegation is being levelled against me by liars and morally degraded leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. My name was earlier in Delhi's electoral roll and I got it deleted through the procedure established by law," he wrote on X, sharing what he said were Election Commission documents to support his claim. At another poll rally, Gandhi accused the NDA government of encouraging youth to make social media reels to "divert attention from pressing issues"."Reels are the addiction of the 21st century," he said. He also alleged that farmers, labourers and weavers of Bihar neither get loans from banks nor is their debt waived, while the BJP-led government always waives loans of certain corporates. Gandhi further claimed that TV channels are paid by the BJP to show the Prime Minister's face 24 hours.- EndsPublished By: Nakul AhujaPublished On: Nov 7, 2025Must Watch
