Bill Belichick announced in August that Hulu was set to feature the North Carolina football program in a seasonlong show.
However, with the Tar Heels off to a disastrous start to the year, the in-season documentary has been canceled, according to Inside Carolina.
Citing sources close to the program, Inside Carolina reported on Tuesday that the show is no longer taking place.
North Carolina is 2-3 on the year and has yet to win a Power 4 game. In its matchups against Power 4 teams TCU, UCF and Clemson, UNC has been outscored 120-33.
The Tar Heels have been inconsistent on both sides of the ball and their only two wins are over Charlotte and Richmond.
North Carolina and Belichick will travel to Cal on Oct. 17 following a bye this weekend.
Belichick said back in August when the documentary was announced that he was looking forward to showcasing the UNC program and its players on Hulu.
“I know that you guys have heard that there was a lot of interest in doing a seasonlong documentary or seasonlong show about North Carolina football,” Bill Belichick told his players at the time. “I’m excited to share with you that we will be doing that with EverWonder and Hulu that will showcase our football program.
“This is about the UNC football program. There’s obviously a lot of interest in it. And it’ll stream on Hulu later this fall.”
Obviously, it appears as though that documentary will no longer be happening.
