Bikes are being stolen at knifepoint in quiet Welsh town

Police are investigating with bicycles reportedly being stolen at knifepoint in a quiet Welsh town. Police say one incident happened at Cogan railway station near Penarth town centre earlier this month. It followed similar incidents having occurred at the popular seaside town just days earlier according to South Wales Police. The force has described the incidents as "similar in nature" and asked the public for their help with its investigations. On Wednesday the force said a man was targeted at the railway station in Cogan on Thursday, October 16 where a person allegedly pulled a knife on him before stealing his bike. A spokesman for the force said on Wednesday: "Three incidents close together and similar in nature have been reported in Penarth this month. "This behaviour will not be tolerated and we encourage anyone experiencing such behaviour, to please contact police." The force is appealing for anyone with information about the Cogan railway station incident to contact them, quoting reference number 2500332484.
