Bike rally marks World Heart Day in Dharwad

A motorcycle rally was organised in Dharwad on Sunday to create awareness among the public about heart health and the prevention of heart attacks as part of World Heart Day.

The motorcycle rally organised by SDM Narayana Heart Centre Dharwad was flagged off by Assistant Commissioner of Police Prashant Siddanagoudar and Hubballi Rural Police Inspector Murugesh Channannavar.

The rally then passed through P.B. Road, Court Circle, Jubilee Circle and College Road before concluding at Karnatak College.

Over 200 bikers, doctors and staff of the hospital and representatives of various organisations took part in the event.

At the valedictory ceremony, cardiologist Raghu Prasad spoke about the precautionary measures to be taken to ensure one’s good health.

Cardiac anaestheologist Ganesh Nayak emphasised the need for maintaining a healthy lifestyle by enaging in physical activities along with good diet.

Hospital facility director Shashikumar I. Pattanashhetti elaborated on the significance of World Heart Day.

Medical Superintendent Kirthi P.L., retired Railway judge G.V. Ramanagoudar and others were present.
