Big Brother star, Zelah Glasson, has opened up more about his transition and said he can now see himself “getting old” and having a “grey beard.” The 25-year-old personal trainer from London, who is trans, entered the Big Brother house at the start of the series, instantly being named the “winner” by fans on day one. Since then he’s stayed in the house, navigated tricky moments with other housemates and also opened up about his transition. He’s done so again in a conversation with Farida Khalifa in a recent episode where he was asked if he’d been in therapy for his transition. Tackling the potentially tricky question, Zelah confirmed he’d seen specialists during his transition but said he was “lucky” that his transition “wasn’t traumatic in any way, shape or form.” He continued, “It was a slow process where I started to realise like, ‘Oh, I don’t see myself getting old in this body’ and not in a depressing or suicidal way. It just meant I could not picture me getting old as a woman.” Zelah then said, “now, I guess I’m at a point in my life for the first time ever, I can see myself with a grey beard, growing old with my partner, possibly being a dad. And that’s only come to place in the past year.” @bbuk "For the first time ever, I can see myself with a grey beard" 🥺 Zelah opens up about his transition and growing old #BBUK ♬ original sound – Big Brother UK Zelah has discussed having children on the show previously. “Something that I might look into is getting my eggs taken out so [his partner] Francesca can then carry my egg, and then our baby will have 50 per cent [of] my DNA but she gets to carry it,” Zelah told Jenny. “[Francesca] really wants to do it that way.” Zelah has become known during his time in the house for articulately educating his housemates on the reality of being a trans man. During an incident earlier on in the series, public relations worker Caroline misgendered Zelah, saying that he “doesn’t have a willy”. Zelah then explained to Caroline why the comment was offensive, and assured her that she is “allowed to get things wrong.” Despite being a fan favourite, Zelah is currently up for the double eviction taking place on Friday (31 October) Big Brother continues on ITV2 and ITVX Sundays to Fridays.
