The Bharathiar University Teachers Association (BHUTA) has welcomed the directive of the Higher Education Department on rotation of headship in university departments every three years. The association has urged the university administration to take appropriate action against a section of faculty members over making unfounded allegations against the Higher Education Department, the Registrar and the Vice-Chancellor Committee. The Headship Rotation was being implemented by the university in tune with the guidelines issued by the State government. In another communication, the university said professors and associate professors have been posted as heads of 17 departments, as per the Acts and Statutes Chapter XXI(45) of Higher Education Department. Henceforth, rotation of three-year Headship of departments will be followed in the university departments, it said.
