The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL), Tiruchi, has donated assistive devices to 75 persons with disabilities in Tiruchi district under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

S. Prabhakar, Executive Director, BHEL Tiruchi Complex, distributed the aids to the beneficiaries recently in the presence of N. Shaji, Additional General Manager and Head, Human Resources, BHEL Tiruchi. Calipers, wheelchairs, artificial limbs, special furniture for children with special needs, and other locomotor aids were distributed.

The assistive devices were customised as per the measurements taken from the beneficiaries earlier. The beneficiaries included persons affected by muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and polio, according to a BHEL release.
