BFA Holds Annual Congress Meeting
The Bermuda Football Association recently held its Annual Congress Meeting at the Bermuda College, highlighting gold medal successes, financial stability, and new executive appointments.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Football Association held its Annual Congress Meeting on September 29th in the Butterfield and Vallis Conference Center at the Bermuda College.
“The Congress, football’s ultimate authority, was able to receive yearend reports from all of the BFA Standing Committees. The highlight for the year being the gold medal performances at the Island Games held in Orkney. Our Men’s Under 23 team captured the Gold medal playing against a series of stronger men’s teams and our Senior Women captured the gold medal for the 3rd time. The second in succession.
“The BFA were given an administrative “clean bill of health” with an unqualified audit opinion by Deloitte and passed FIFA’s Audit of the funding provided by the world governing body.
“In an impassioned plea, President Wade encouraged the Clubs to recommit to their Presidents Forum to ensure the development of the game gets the year-round attention that it deserves.
“The night concluded with the election of two new officers to the BFA Executive Council. Tashun Simons and Mishael Paynter were elected from a pool of four candidates. The Congress was attended by Director of Sport and Recreation, Kimberly Charryse Bean as well as Honorary Vice Presidents Neville Tyrell MP and Larry Mussenden, Chief Justice of Bermuda.”
