Nigeria’s leading sports betting and digital entertainment company, Bet9ja, has become the headline sponsor of Remo Stars Football Club, also known as the Sky Blue Stars, as they prepare for their first-ever campaign in the prestigious CAF Champions League!
The partnership renewal was officially announced at the club’s home ground, the Ikenne Township Stadium, cementing Bet9ja’s role in supporting the Ogun-based side as they make their continental debut.Remo Stars wrote their name in history books last season when they lifted their maiden Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, becoming the first club from Ogun State to achieve the feat. With this landmark, the team is now setting its sights on replicating their domestic success on the African stage.
Speaking on the sponsorship, Omene Osuya, Senior Marketing Manager at Bet9ja, said the company’s commitment is to see Nigerian football excel again.“Our commitment is simple, we want to see Nigerian football excel again on the biggest stage. Partnering with Remo Stars is about giving Nigerian talent the backing to compete, win, and inspire the next generation,” Osuya stated.
In his remarks, Adedoyin Ogungbefun, CEO of Remo Stars, described the deal as a boost to the club’s long-term ambitions.“Bet9ja’s investment goes beyond sponsorship. It strengthens our ambition to not just represent Nigeria, but to challenge for honors in Africa and build a sustainable model for football development,” Ogungbefun said.
The sponsorship further expands Bet9ja’s footprint in Nigerian sports. Recently, the company also signed heavyweight boxing prodigy Moses Itauma as a brand ambassador, showing its growing interest in supporting local and international talents.
With Bet9ja’s backing, Remo Stars will carry Nigeria’s hopes as they battle for continental glory, aiming to end the country’s 20-year wait for a CAF Champions League triumph.
