On its 53rd edition, the storied Guanajuanto festival features an exciting musical lineup, headlined by the Africa Express project, led by British artist Damon Albarn (frontman of Blur and Gorillaz), joined by 60 performers from Mali, Uganda, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, the U.S., France, and more. The Mexican collective includes artists like Camilo Lara, Luisa Almaguer, Son Rompe Pera, Eme Malafe, and Mare Advertencia Lirika.
This festival will also feature performances by Nathy Peluso, Julieta Venegas with the University of Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra, Kid Koala, Elsa y Elmar, and Sonido Gallo Negro, among others. This year, El Cervantino welcomes the U.K as the guest country and the Mexican state of Veracruz as the guest region.

This fall, the East Coast will welcome Migo Festival, the first-ever corridos-focused music bash in Puebla York. Taking place Oct. 11 at the Coney Island Amphitheater, the inaugural feast gathers Mexican and Mexican-American acts, including headliners Chino Pacas, DannyLux, and Los Primos del Este, as well as indie-pop’s Los Aptos, cumbia-pop singer Estevie, and Jasiel Nuñez. Additionally, Migo Fest is spotlighting local Mexican-American talent emerging directly from New York’s streets. The Bronx’s Selines, Brooklyn’s SpliffHappy, and Queens’ Santy y Su Estilo Único will take the stage.

This year, the festival makes history by expanding to Brazil for the “World’s First Impact Concert in the Amazon.” In support of COP30, Global Citizen Festival: Amazônia will celebrate major COP commitments, spotlight Indigenous leaders, and amplify campaigns for urgent climate action, as the culmination of their #ProtectTheAmazon campaign.
