Benjamin Netanyahu forced to deny 'disgusting rumors' he ordered hit on Charlie Kirk in extraordinary video

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued an extraordinary address denying he had involvement in Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

A conspiracy theory fueled by right-wing provocateurs has swept social media claiming Kirk was targeted for his souring views of the Israeli government.

Netanyahu described the baseless rumor as a ‘monstrous big lie’ as he likened it to Nazi propaganda in a video shared on X.

‘Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda minister, said that the bigger the lie, the faster it will spread,’ Netanyahu said.

‘Somebody has fabricated a monstrous big lie, that Israel had something to do with Charlie Kirk’s horrific murder.

‘This is insane, it is false, it is outrageous. Charlie Kirk was a giant, a once-in-a-century talent who defended freedom, defended America, defended our common Judeo-Christian civilization.

‘Charlie loved Israel, he loved the Jewish people, he told me so in a letter that he sent me just a few months ago.’

MAGA commentators claimed Kirk was growing increasingly critical of Netanyahu privately, while still publicly supporting Israel.

On his show this week, Tucker Carlson claimed that Kirk ‘did not like Bibi Netanyahu,’ describing him as a ‘destructive force’ and saying he was ‘appalled’ by the events unfolding in Gaza

In the video on X, Netanyahu continued: ‘He [Kirk] encouraged me to make the case directly to the American people about how vital Israel is to US national security.

‘He told me, ‘The Holy Land is so important to my life, it pains me to see support for Israel slip away’.

‘Now, if Charlie disagreed with a policy of mine – or a decision – here and there, not only did I not mind, I welcomed it.

‘This is the essence of Charlie. This is the essence of a free country. It’s exactly what Charlie stood for.

‘And I knew that his suggestions always came from the heart, from his love for Israel and from his love for the Jewish people.

‘A few weeks before his death, I spoke to Charlie. I invited him to visit Israel again. And sadly, that won’t happen.’

The Israeli PM went on to suggest Qatar was somehow involved in circulating the conspiracy theory.

He added: ‘Now, some are peddling these disgusting rumors, perhaps out of obsession, perhaps with Qatari funding.

‘What I do know is this – Charlie Kirk was a great man, and a great man deserves honor, not lies.

‘Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk. May your memory be a blessing.’

The rumor of Israeli involvement was fueled by a meeting in early August in which Kirk met with prominent Jewish billionaire Bill Ackman in the Hamptons.

Provocateur Candace Owens claimed on her podcast that Ackman confronted Kirk about his falling support for Israel.

She added that Kirk had ‘declined’ to visit Israel.

Daily Mail spoke to multiple conservative influencers who attended the event and declined seeing any tense moments between the pair, adding that the summit was mainly focused on other issues — not Israel.

Ackman denied Owens’s claims in a post on X: ‘For the record, at no time have I ever threatened Charlie Kirk, Turning Point or anyone associated with him.

‘I have never blackmailed anyone, let alone Charlie Kirk.

‘I have never offered Charlie or Turning Point any money in an attempt to influence Charlie’s opinion on anything.’

Netanyahu had already dismissed ‘insane’ and ‘absurd’ online rumors blaming Israel for the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.

Those conspiracy theories started less than an hour after Kirk was killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10.

The Israeli leader told Newsmax then: ‘They have no limits.

‘When you hate Jews, when you hate the Jewish state, you’re willing to say anything and promote all these absurd rumors.’

Netanyahu added: ‘We are fighting on the battlefield against the terrorists and winning, and he was fighting on the battlefield of ideas, and I think he was winning – that’s why they shot him.
