A 27-year-old man from Bengaluru was found dead on Sunday, days after he went missing following allegations that he had impregnated a 17-year-old girl. Police said preliminary investigations suggest the case to be one of death by suicide. According to officials, the man was reported missing on October 31, soon after the allegation surfaced. That evening, around 7.30 p.m., he circulated an audio message to several friends and relatives, denying the charge and claiming he was being falsely implicated. “I am not the one who made the student pregnant. The accusation is false. I have no connection with her. I’m being wrongly accused,” he said in the message. The man alleged that the school administration was attempting to suppress the matter to safeguard its image and blamed the physical education teacher for allegedly framing him. In the same message, he urged authorities to conduct a DNA test to “find the real culprit” and deliver justice. Police later discovered the man’s motorbike, slippers, jacket and mobile phone abandoned near the Tunga stream in Bettadathunga village. His body was recovered from the water two days later, on November 2, by fire and emergency service personnel. Hunasur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Gopala Krishna said, “We registered a missing complaint on October 31, and the body was recovered on November 2. We have recovered the mobile phone and voice message. A DNA test will be conducted, and justice will be ensured.” A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the incident while the voice recording will undergo forensic analysis to verify its authenticity, police said.
