Bengaluru gets Rolls-Royce 700-seater global capability centre

British aerospace and defence company Rolls-Royce has inaugurated a 700-seater Global Capability and Innovation Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, one of its largest worldwide. The facility will host part of the company’s global digital capabilities and enterprise services teams, along with engineering units supporting its Civil Aerospace and Defence businesses, further strengthening its footprint in India.

The new GCC complements Rolls-Royce’s plan to double sourcing from India over the next five years, accelerating the integration of Indian suppliers into its global supply chain.

Speaking at the inauguration, Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister, M.B. Patil, said the state has consistently promoted aerospace and defence investment through forward-looking policies, infrastructure, and ease-of-doing-business measures. “Our government is committed to being a trusted partner in building technologies of global relevance,” he added.

Helen McCabe, Chief Financial Officer, Rolls-Royce plc, said, “India is significant to Rolls-Royce’s global journey of innovation and progress. This newly expanded centre reaffirms our commitment to India and will be our largest capability hub. We look forward to strengthening local capabilities, developing talent and deepening partnerships, while co-creating solutions with our teams and partners to deliver greater value for customers in India and worldwide.”
