Bengals Week 2 Snap Counts: Mitchell Tinsley makes the most of his uptick, tight end adjustments to note

Tinsley’s first-career NFL catch was a game-tying, one-handed touchdown in the third quarter. It was also his sixth snap of the day on offense. “[Tinsley] exemplifies everything that we stand for as a team, and as a Bengal, when we define it: physical, hungry, accountable, teammate, who’s willing to do their all to get the job done,” head coach Zac Taylor told reporters after the game. 10 snaps may not seem like a lot, but when you’re behind starters Ja’Marr Chase (66), Tee Higgins (60), and Andrei Iosivas (58), it’s difficult to break through. Tinsley had five the week prior, and the fact that he’s getting the fourth-most snaps at the position is notable, as Charlie Jones (1) may now be down to WR5.

Mike Gesicki gets the call this time around

With a pass-first mindset throughout the game, Cincinnati leaned on tight end Mike Gesicki (36) with the most snaps for the position group with Drew Sample (28) and Noah Fant (17) rounding things out. Sample played the most last week and Fant was right behind him as well.Gesicki only ended up with three receptions for 18 yards on four targets, but no one outside of Chase had quite the days they expected catching passes once Burrow went down in the second quarter. How Gesicki and Co. are utilized with Browning going forward will be noteworthy to watch.

Other notes

Cody Ford (6) filled in for Amarius Mims (63) briefly at right tackle. Mims was limited in practice earlier in the week with an ankle injury, but it was unclear what had happened with Mims during the game.
Defensive end Shemar Stewart (29) suffered a leg injury in the second half but still out-snapped Myles Murphy (19). With Stewart expected to be week-to-week, expect Murphy to fill in his shoes more often.
Safety Geno Stone (72) and cornerback DJ Turner II (71) each appeared to be shaken up with injuries at some point but only Turner was off the field for one snap.
