Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reunited at the premiere of “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”
The former couple posed for photos at the New York screening on Oct. 6, surprising many on the red carpet. Lopez donned a unique gown by Harris Reed and was all smiles as she posed next to Affleck in a navy suit.
At one point, Affleck was snapped whispering something to Lopez on the red carpet. The pair also posed With J.Lo’s co-star Tonatiuh.
“Kiss of the Spider Woman” stars Lopez as Ingrid Luna, a Hollywood starlet who is part of a musical that political prisoner Molina (Tonatiuh) tells his cellmate Valentín (Diego Luna). Lopez also portrays Spider Woman and Aurora.
Affleck is an executive producer of the musical, directed by Bill Condon.
In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” on the red carpet, Affleck said, “I wouldn’t dream of not being here.”
“This is an incredible story. This is the kind of role I think that Jennifer has wanted to play her whole career and she’s fabulous in it,” he said, adding that he’s “excited” for people to see it. “She’s great, Tona’s great, Diego’s great.”
Earlier in the day, Lopez made an appearance on TODAY, where she credited her ex-husband for helping her make the film.
“If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have (gotten) made, and I will always give him that credit,” she said Oct. 6.
She shared that making “Kiss of the Spider Woman” was also cathartic and how she connected to the film’s plot.
“Things happen. You have to keep going,” she said. “But, it’s funny. The movie is about escapism. It’s about how movies and art save us in the hardest times of our lives. And doing this project was such a dream come true for me that it really got me through, to kind of survive a moment that was difficult in my personal life, as well.”
She added that after the film wrapped, she took some time off.
“And now we’re back,” she continued, “And I’m really excited for everybody to see this film. It’s a beautiful film about love.”
Formerly dubbed at Bennifer, Lopez and Affleck’s love story is one for the books. The pair got engaged in 2022, 20 years after rekindling their romance after their first engagement.
They got married in 2022. However, Lopez later filed for divorce in 2024. She chronicled their romantic history before they separated in her documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”
“Kiss of the Spider Woman” arrives in theaters on Oct. 10.
